It’s time to explore the other opportunities for the guests of MotoSoul! Markus graciously invites me for a tour of the motorbike venues in the region. He also invites along his friend Patricia to translate for us. We meet at Schloss Mutzschen and we are off – by car of course!
I quickly discover that there are multiple options and Carsten Graf was correct – this is motorbike mecca! The people here are motorcycle crazy. Even my Dad and all of his crazy friends didn’t have 4 different riding venues within 30 minutes. We had to drive HOURS to find riding locations when I was a child. Wow, this location really has legs – it could be THE ONE!
All along the way we talk about living in the USA, my kids adjusting to life in Germany, and business. The conversation wanders just like the roads, and it flows easily. Patricia spends time every year in California, so we laugh about the Californians and share favorite places.
Markus says he wants to go someplace special next and we drive into the forest. All I can picture is how much MotoSoul customers are going to love these roads and landscapes, and next thing you know, he is pulling into a fairy tale picture book. It literally felt like a travelling in time.
This lovely little restaurant is tucked in the forest, and if you didn’t know it was there, you would never find it. At this point I am fully expecting to be greeted by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs!
We enjoy a lovely German meal that tastes like it could have come from Oma’s kitchen.
I am so far in at this point, I fear I cannot walk away even if I had to. A dangerous position for negotiating in any business venture…yet, this is not a business venture. This is the pursuit of a dream. It is my life’s work. Everything I learned in my life so far and everyone I have met had led me to this place. I know it so deeply that I am not surprised at all by every twist and turn in this saga.
Our last stop is a quaint little café in Wermsdorf that serves banana splits and great coffee! I sit there day dreaming about how lucky I am and how happy our guests will be if they can spend a day riding through and experiencing what I saw today. I accept the fact that I lead a charmed life – how fortunate I am, and most of all, how the right people come into my life. Thank you Markus and Patricia – you totally rock!!
