MotoSoul is a BIG PROJECT!! It takes 20 minutes to walk the perimeter of the property. There are 9 buildings on the land. There are 4 terraces of retaining walls surrounding the entire Schloss (Castle). There are trees, landscapes, groundscapes, and everywhere you look there is another project.
Many would look at this project and see it as unsurmountable. I look at the property and see how it will be in just a short time – short relative to the life it has lives so far anyway! And short relative to the life I have lived so far too!
Several days ago a tornado hit Mutzschen. Today was the first day I walked the property after the storm. As I went through it, foot by foot with my structural engineer, I saw how Mother Nature took a toll. I also saw how Mother Nature selectively chose to take the trees that should go to increase the views for my plan. It seems to me that no other “happy accident” could have come from this storm. As City and Regional Government workers continue to clean up after this major storm, I feel nothing but gratefulness. With the sound of chainsaws being from dawn to dusk for days, along comes new sunshine.
The view from the Grotto and small concert venue now is opened to the lake.
The view from the Campground to the Schloss is now clear.
The Glampground has sun shining through where there was only shade before.
Like every step of this project so far, the Universe serves up exactly what is needed to make this project proceed. Yes, we have a lot to clean up, but the cleanup is done willingly, since the benefits are great. The weak trees have been pruned out and the property has become safer. The views have become grander, and I have a new appreciation for things greater than myself or my project.
I took some beautiful pictures of this storm while it was happening, never realizing what it was doing just 12 kilometers away from where I was.
